I DO have GraphicsEnabler set to Yes in Boot.plist.

Well duh, that's why it works. If you set GraphicsEnabler to No, it will stop working.

Not everybody has to edit kexts to get their video card working, including me.

OK I figured that. Am I actually using an Nvidia driver then that's built into OSx? Or is it OSx's version that happens to work on Nvidia cards?

The reason for asking is that both Linux and Windows have an Nvidia Control Panel that allows all sorts of tweaking options and settings. Either no such thing exists in OSx, I haven't been able to find it, or I need to install it somehow.

Yes, you're using unmodified, Apple-shipped Nvidia drivers, congratulations. Cool isn't it. I bought my 9800GTX+ for this very reason.

Some people have the same luck with LAN, sound, drive controllers and other devices.

There is no control panel for your video card on OS X, other than the Display preference pane.

As far as I'm concerned, this is not a drawback and one of the many reasons to like OS X.
