Chemicalrubber
Hi, I've successfully installed iATKOS v5i on to my Acer Travelmate 4720, but it has no internet drivers (Intel 3945). Thus I would like to install Windows (preferably 7, though XP/Vista or even Linux will do) but OS X takes up the whole hard disk. Thus, I would need to resize the OS X partition and install Windows on a new partition. Are there any other steps that are necessary? Or can I just install Windows and EasyBCD and add the OS X entry without it screwing anything up? (I'm assuming that Disk Utility can resize the OS X partition and I need to install Paragon NTFS) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207673-installing-windows-7-last/ Share on other sites
gdscei
You can, just resize the partition in Disk Utility (if that doesnt work, use GParted on a Ubuntu disk). Make sure your mac partition is primary! Otherwise it will not work. Then, just install windows, go into easybcd and add entry General OSx86 PC. More instructions in my guidr in this forum! OK, I'll try that. By the way, I've read your guide and it's great. I've also read somewhere that Windows must be on the first partition, is that the case? Thanks for the reply and the guide. I had Windows on a 2nd partition, it doesn't matter, as long as it is a primary partition your ok.
