Okay, so I've been trying for days...even weeks to get this motherboard to boot. I successfully installed iAtkos V7 10.5 onto an IDE hard drive but when I try to boot, I get the "waiting for root device" and I've tried the jumper thing with the IDE dvd and hard drive and changing the bios to legacy and then to normal...

But I still get the grey screen with the spinning symbol and the stop symbol on to of the apple logo. And of course if I use verbose mode, it just stays at the "waiting for root device". My question is, if I was able to boot into the dvd to install and go through all the steps to install to completion, my computer should be able to boot into OSX if all the components of install are correct, right? Who else out there with this board has had success? I do have a SATA hard drive available to use but it's my windows xp drive and it's not inside the computer right now. Besides, I think I got the same thing with that one, not too sure though. I think all I need to do is get past the root device problem and I may be in business.

Here are my system specs:

Motherboard: Intel DG965SS

Processor: Pentium 4 3.0 GHz / HT

Memory: 3 Gigs

Video: nVidia GeForce 7600gs 512mb

I believe the rest is irrelevant.

UPDATE BELOW

EDIT: Well, I changed the driver to the Marvell IDE driver and it booted. Right into Mac OSX. So disregard the above problems. But now, I just need to find out which video driver to use for the GeForce 7600 and I'll be set. Haven't actually tested the sound yet but I'll get to that soon. If anyone knows what drivers I use for that video card, I would love to know. I also will try the onboard video...but my card gives me 512 mb of video memory so I would like to keep that one usuable...:-)
