michael.su
I have made a discovery that I think will be useful to others. My Hackintosh is a Dell 4400 running iPC OSX 10.5.6. My machine only supports SSE2. Everything runs very well except for Garageband which runs so slow it's pretty much useless. I am kind of bummed since I actually use Garageband. At first I was thinking 'well at least I have a mac too to run Garageband on but My wife usually has it :-( Anyway, thinking they resources are handled the same way in Logic as Garageband I decided to try to install Logic Express anyway. Well, the results were a shock! The same 12 track song that choked Garagband to Death played perfect under Logic Express 7.2. I'm guessing the two programs although similar, handle resources much differently. So all you SSE2 Hackers out there ready to give up in your Hackintosh because you really wanted Garageband, Try Logic first! Logic is a little more advanced but is capable of everything Garageband is and more.....It even lets you use all of the Garageband loops :-) HTH Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207565-sse2-hackintosh-and-garageband/ Share on other sites
