Sound stopped working on Dell Mini 10v Netbook

Last night I installed the Snow Leopard version of OS X on my Mini 10v using the NetbookBootMaker and everything seemed to work fine at first. When the 'Welcome' video played, the sound was fine. I upgraded to 10.6.2 via software update and got all the other updates as well. Now, somehow, the sound no longer works.

 

On a side note, I just installed the mach_kernel patch because I was getting a kernel panic.

 

I'm using a Dell Mini 10v with the Intel Atom N280 processor. A06 BIOS.

I just got the kernel panic again and had to restart...

Hmm the same thing happened to me with the audio but im running A04 bios and dont get the kernal panics.
