I am in the planning phase to develop an Atom 330 powered 10.6.2 netboot server. I need to know which board and processor would be recommended from the community (N series would also suffice, but DualCore = Double Awesome)

I intend on using the Cenbro ES34069-BK-180 :

I will also need a hardware raid controller for the 4 storage drives, Thinking Raid 5 preferable.

The intended use of this server is to be a mobile deployment server for mac labs in geographically separated buildings. Gig-E is preferred even though the majority of the infrastructure is 10/100 (client machines could be imaged individually over Gig over a Crossover.) The software to be used will be OSX netboot and Deploystudio. up to 30 Client machines (per session) is a major +, I'm guessing that 4-8GB of ram would be required to satisfy this number of clients.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

Honest i would go for a Zotac GF9300 motherboard and a Q8300 cpu instead..

I have tried the intel D945GCLF and the D945GCLF2, and i have a zotac ion motherboard... and after the ion mobo witch is the only one of the 2 chipsets that support more then 2 gb ram, i did get a GF9300 mobo from zotac and a Q8300... and honest it dont use as little power as the atom but the atoms cant compete plus you need modded kernel for 10.6.2 and above on the atoms... you dont on the Q8300...

And your link dont work btw.. use http://is.gd to shorten it down..

Apologies for the link, The point being that the power supply maxes at 180 watts.

The 10.6.2 isnt required. 6.1 or 6.0 or even a 5.X would work, I just want to have the highest version that would fit the need.

Looks ok for me... in the end this is something you will be more glad to have then a atom...

Specific when you are making the images as they like to use cpu power.. :) And the GF9300 is native supported now as apple uses the little faster version called GF9400.. :D

Well if you google then you can find watt calculators that can tell you... and beside you can just underclock and under voltage the cpu...From what i just can see on Wiki then the 65W that the Q8x00 series use is the same as most of the core 2 duo's use also... only ones using less is the mobile versions..
