slammed87d21
Let me just say first that I'm not a total noob at this anymore. Got OSX on several desktops and a couple laptops with little to no issues. But those were all Intel. I have an Acer Aspire 3003WLMi laptop. Has a 1.8 GHz AMD Sempron Mobile processor. That's what is getting me I believe. My install disc is a Kalyway 10.5.3 and plan on updating it to 10.5.6 at least. Has anyone tried OSX on this laptop? Or at least have some pointers for me? I started an install on it with what I thought were halfway correct selections. I doubt they were. So far I have alreadyfigured out just booting the disc the Synaptics Touchpad doesn't work and neither does the keyboard. Had the same issue with my Acer Aspire One (did it without tutorials or any help) and fixed it. Does anyone know what hardware this laptop uses? I've been unable to find anything online about it. Any and all help is greatly appreciated. Thanks. slammed87d21
Got it to install but having issues. Got the endless boot going on. Wiped the HD clean again, and trying a re-install again. Still using the Kalyway 10.5.2 installer. BTW, I did buy a factory disc. Didn't have much luck with it. Figured out this laptop has the SiS chipset. Found a thread about a similar a laptop with that chipset, and using the Kalyway installer. Said to not select any chipsets before the install. Tried that the first time today, and selected the first option in the AMD patches. Got the endless boot again. Just finished a second try with the second option for AMD processors, but the same thing. Any suggestions?
