Zythyr
Hi,I need to install Snow Leopard on HP Pavilion DV5. I now have Kalyway 10.5.8 working fine without Sleep! Please help me out! Please post your specs and also put your specs in your signature, that way it makes it easier for people to help you out. I just managed to get Leopard working on my HP dv6607nr (bios says DV5000). Now trying to get Snow Leopard. We are on the same boat. But I need to know if you have AMD or Intel processor, that way I can guide you to the correct method to install Snow Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207115-snow-leopard-on-hp-pavilion-dv5/#findComment-1491057 Share on other sites
montassis
Hey guys, sorry to thread hijack but I am doing this also. I am about ready to take the plunge and thought I'd post what I'm about to do/have done: My laptop: HP dv5-1138tx Specs: Microprocessor: 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor P8400 Memory: 4gig Video Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 9600M GT 512 MB Hard Drive: 250 GB (5400 rpm) Multimedia Drive: LightScribe Super Multi 8X DVD±RW with Double Layer Support Network Card: Integrated 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet LAN Wireless Connectivity: Intel WiFi Link 5100 Already running Windows 7 and iDebeb Lite Edition 10.5.8 I have the Snow Leopard retail DVD and i am going to install it using this guide: ##### + ##### method As we are running Core 2 Duo's, I used the ##### Supported CD. I booted it and it ran fine, detected the Snow Leopard CD which booted fine. Once in the install screen I ran disk utility and formatted the iDeneb partition to install Snow Leopard. Unfortunately it said that my partition table was not GUID. I am guessing this means I will have to format my whole hard drive, install Snow Leopard first and then install Windows 7. If anyone has any ideas on this let me know. Also, if anyone else is trying this method post back your results here. The other way to do it is using the myHack Installer but I havent tried that yet because I haven't got an 8gig memory stick. If people try that post back results as well. Thanks http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2009/11/dua...-os-x-snow.html Just found that, about dual booting windows 7 and Snow Leopard off the same hard drive, it requires a complete format Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/207115-snow-leopard-on-hp-pavilion-dv5/#findComment-1491382 Share on other sites
montassis
Hey everyone, posting this from Snow Leopard on my dv5! Everything working as expected except wifi (no Intel 5100 Wifi driver afaik) and the camera doesn't seem to be working so no photobooth for now. I have dual boot working using the ##### CD but plan to complete the dual boot tutorial and have it booting Chameleon directly off the hard drive. The whole process is a piece of cake, just follow the tutorial using ##### supported! If you have any issues post here and I'll try and help out, but I'm not expert!
