Yyrkoon
I just downloaded a version of OS X 10.4.6 x86. It has the Maxxuss 1.0 patch included and I installed it. The boot-up from DVD, HD partitioning and installation went well. I even made the changes and added the files so it can be selected from the XP boot selector. However when it starts booting in OS X, it starts in verbose mode showing everything that happening. Then it just quits and reboots. Right in the middle. It does this every time. I have the following system. Intel Pentium 4 Prescott 3.0GHz 1GB Memory ASUS P4C800-E Deluxe Motherboard ATI X800 XT All-In-Wonder 256MB graphics card Soundblaster Live! Sound Card HD for OS X 8GB EIDE I hope this is enough info. Can anyone tell me what could be going wrong? Thanks, YYrkoon Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20699-os-x-1046-reboots-in-sartup/ Share on other sites

dvon1981
I had a similar problem. Mine was due to an error I made during install. Right before you clikc install you need to choose customise and if your processor is SSE2, choose that. Or if it is SSE3, choose that - but not both of them. Once I did that my install booted correctly and stopped doing that weird reboot loop. If you already did that sorry. Jedisinclair
I am having same problem... when I chose "Customize" on the jas 10.4.6 install... the bottom box said "Intel and AMD patches" or something like that. I checked it and installed. I did NOT see an option for sse2 or sse3 or anything else: it was like it was ONE box to check. Did I miss something??? You have to click the little arrow to the left of "Intel and AMD patches" to reveal the individual patches for selection. Jedisinclair
duh! I missed something so simple... well, it worked! I got OsX working then I disabled OS Selector and made the OsX partition active... waited for darwin so I could choose osx or windows and it ONLY boots directly into osx... so now how do I get back into windows? PS - Thanks for the help on the other issues... you guys rock!
