syldaril
I've been having the hardest time booting from OSX lately. I'm using the patched 10.4.6 (JaS DVD+Patch) on my new Momentus 5400.3, 160 GB, Ultra ATA/100. I installed 10.4.5 before on my old 7200.1 100GB with no problems at all. Right now I am trying to install 10.4.6 on a 10GB partition that is right after the main 140GB Windows XP partition. Both are set to Primary. The installer boots just fine and the whole installation process works like a charm, but when the computer reboots my only option is to boot Windows Xp (I should mention that I have Acronis OS Selector installed). I have also tried booting into my newly installed OS via VMWare by selecting the boot from partition option, but all I get is this error message at the very beginning "MBR Error 3 MBR Error 1 Press any key to boot from floppy..." I have read all of the guides outthere but still couldn't solve my problem, I hope one of you guys can help me figure this out!!! Thanks very much PS: my hardware config is Dell Inspiron 9300 (Pentium M 2GHz/1256MB/160GB/nVidia GeForce 6800) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20694-dual-booting-on-a-momentus-54003160gbultra-ata-100/ Share on other sites
syldaril
Anybody? I just want to know if it's my new hardware that's giving me such grievance! Does anyone have experience with running OSX on the new perpendicular storage hard drives? Syldaril.
