Anyone please help - spent several weeks on this.

I have a similar problem as the first post:

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-X48-GQ6

CPU: Intel Q8300 - Core 2 Quad

Mobo IO sequence:

IDE ch 0 Master None, IDE ch 0 Slave None

IDE ch 1 Master None, IDE ch 1 Slave None

IDE ch 2 Master None, IDE ch 3 Master None

IDE ch 4 Master Standard IDE DVD, IDE ch 4 Standard WD IDE drive

IDE ch 5 Master None, IDE ch 5 Slave None

Few more bios settings in BIOS

SATA RAID/AHCI Mode: [AHCI] (other IDE; RAID/IDE)

SATA Port0-3 Native Mode: [Disabled] (other options Enabled)

Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode: [AHCI] (other options IDE, RAID/IDE)

I've tried installing iPC 10.5.6 PPF5 (default install) from internal IDE DVD or from external USB DVD and both times the same problem.

When OSx boots:

hd(0,1) OSX86

switches: -f -v

I am noticing these questionable lines:

Waiting for boot volume with UID 9244190B-xxx-xxx-xxx-xxxxxxxx (something like that)

Waiting on <dict ID="0"<key>IOProviderClass</key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media</string></dist>

and after Firewire message ongoing

"Still waiting for root device"

:P:D

It looks like your installation is missing a driver for the hard disk controller. Are you hard drives in set up in ahci mode in the bios?

typicaly in BIOS my HD as IDE, but when I go to jmicron options table -I put AHCI option (on my MB - this is only one options with AHCI properties)
