cruhaven
Ok Guys, I hope that you can help me on this one. I have been at this for over a week and am getting no results at all. I have an emachine T3656 running 10.5.6 perfectly fine. I have all sound, ethernet, graphics, etc. I go to install 10.6 on a separate partition and I can install it fine, except that I have no audio, no ethernet, no control of graphics like I do with 10.5.6. My machine has a Celeron processor, 1 GB DDR2 ram, GMA 950 graphics. I am using chameleon for the boot loader. What I do notice, is that most of the kexts are not loaded from e/e library and when I do a force load via terminal, I get the error "check kernal logs" and it will not load. I am not sure if it recognizing the e/e folder, the apple boot list ort what not. it is most interesting. I have tried installing the kext from 10.5.6 and still get nothing. I have tried 3rd party add-ons and get nothing. Is there something that I am missing? aaronpoweruser
copy over the ktext from your lepord instal and then Open terminal and type: sudo -s (and your password) chown -R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions chmod -R go=u-w /System/Library/Extensions touch /System/Library/Extensions/ exit And reboot. audit13
I was trying to install onto a friend's Toshiba 2450 with 950 graphics. It would start to load but I couldn't see anything once it went past the Apple logo. I used a boot CD that was specifically designed for a Dell d620 with 950 graphics (google is your friend) and got it loaded and working perfectly. Full resolution, on-board enet and sound working.
