rtoledo
Well fist hello to everyone, first post in here. I was afraid I was going to have to post in here HELP. I've been reading many articles for the past 2 weeks and downloaded 3 or 4 different versions trying to get it to work, the whole time getting kernel panics or just a frozen screen with the rotating cicle icon and no joy. last nite I was up till 4:00am reading tons of articles here and a couple of other sites. then this mornig I came back here and happenned to finally see a post that made sense to me it was just try to start in SAFE MODE DUH!. So I finally did the f8 and -x and voila! Hope my wife is happier doing Facebook on this than on Windows, but I doubt it. I so want to buy her a OS that is bullet proof for her, unfourtunetly the computer on the USS Enterprise is not yet available so thank you for all the helping posts. now to find my way around. BTW this last DVD that finally worked is the iATKOS V.7 (not that the other 3 would not have had I used the f8 -x ) my only question so far is , I put in a DVD in the drive to see , and when I click on idrive this window keeps poping up about signing up on imobile? and won't show the contents of the dvd drive? and what to do so that it boots in regular mode versus safe mode I know I need to RTFM on the MAC so that will be next. heading to Fry's to pickup some book on it, as I feel as new as I did on Linux in the early 80's. oops showing my age again...memory loss and all, my oly salvation is my 12 year old son and my 8 year old grandson are sitting here and helping grandpa on how to use a MAC as they do at school wohooo my fist post in Safari from my Mac , I may just buy one for me, since I have alwaysd been a die hard friend of BSD. this install was on machine #2 below on my sig. using the whole harddrive dedicated to this OS thanks again Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206692-kapla-at-last-and-my-wife-is-yawning/ Share on other sites

DieBuche
that idrive stuff is like an online storage.. Got nothing to do with your dvd. Doesn't it show up on your desktop? For the safe thing: Boot with -v, have a look if you see any errors. inimicus
Here's a tip: Searching for stuff on MAC will yield results for Media Access Control. i.e. MAC address. Searching for stuff on Mac will yield results for Apple computers. i.e. Mac OS X.
