Sambba
Hey! I am very new here and I want to ask what is the simplest method to dual boot SL and win7? I really don't know much about this stuff so I prefer its easy way. I got intel core 2 duo if that helps. I've looked around some tutorials but they look really hard maybe i've been looking to wrong ones. Thanks if someone bothers to help this noob! Im looking for easy tutorial because I really don't want to screw up I combined some tutorials and ended up to this: 1. I insert empire EFI in, and after eject and put mac dvd. 2. Install mac on my other partition on my second HD. 3. Insert windows disc in and repair to get it to boot to win 7. 4. Use EasyBCD to set dual boot menu for mac and windows. I also looked this video, , but I don't understand what the extra files are like FakeSMC, NullCPUPowermanagement, Chameleon 3 and do I need them with my thing? Am I correct? Also 2 questions I got some things on the drive I want to install mac, on installation I can clear it to mac format right? Secondly the image of snow leopard is 7,6 gb can I put it to memory stick instead of a disc, because my friend said something like that. I would this about USB memory stick thing, http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=154045 should it work? I don't have as big disc as 7,6gb Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206627-simplest-way-to-dual-boot-win-7-and-sl/ Share on other sites
aaronpoweruser
you could install osx on 1 drive and then chose your boot drive in bios or you could install charmelon with your osx install and then use your windows install disk and use the charmeleon bootloader which is similar to easy bcd but i like it more 2nd if you shink the main partion on your 2nd hd and mac a new hft journaled one to install osx to you can save your old files you can shinjk the partion in windows and make the journaled one using the osx install disk and yes a flash drive would work or you can use a dual layer dvd there about a dollar a piece Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206627-simplest-way-to-dual-boot-win-7-and-sl/#findComment-1382813 Share on other sites
Sambba
I got c drive where Windows is and d and j drives (j is partition of d) so would the bios technique work and is it dangerous to use boot loader i fear if i screw it. What about empire efi do i have to use it only one to get it to install? Am i right that empire efi makes it so that your machine can boot the disc if not correct me Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206627-simplest-way-to-dual-boot-win-7-and-sl/#findComment-1382836 Share on other sites
