universal Adobe app will come next year when CS3 comes out. Adobe isn't planning on patching the current version. Same thing goes for Micro$oft with Office

Although we may get a look at CS3 much sooner, at WWDC.

So, if I get it right, all applications running through Rosetta tend to {censored} out, don't they? I guess that explains the fact that the Adobe CS2 Suite and Office have been actin' bitchy, don't it? :offtopic::) :glare:

Anyways, after having problems with these two applications, OS X will sort of freeze with the little rainbow colored cursor, (OS X version of the sand hour glass, but worse, cause once it's there it will not go away...) and I just cannot get it fixed. Is there a way to fix this. I know that I could just uninstall these programs, but the thing is I just cannot access the finder cause the little rainbow {censored} just won't go away...Is there something I can do with the OS X installation DVD, like a repair option in Windows XP? Please HELP!!

That's wierd that it's running slow on your systems. Whenever I installed it on my system (AMD X2) my roommate was really jealous because he owns a dual 1.8 G5, and CS2 was running better on my hackintosh than on his macintosh.

I've used MyZar-related files only. Jas doesn't focus on the AMD chip.

If you're curious what applications are running thru Rosetta, go into Applications->Utilities and run Activity Monitor. There's a column that should say Intel or PPC (or PowerPC - can't remember which).

No, actually it runs super fast, when it runs LOL. The thing is that all of a sudden it will lock up, specifically Acrobat 7.0 Pro and there is no way to get out of it. Not even with command+option+escape (force quit). I know this may sound weird, but since I'm a total n00b with OS X I had to "restore", (sorry, I'm very "Microsofted" LOL) the OS twice already. Hence my question: Is there a way of not having to "restore" everytime this lock up goes on? I'm REALLY afraid to install anything anymore...ANY help is very much appreciated. ;):thanks_speechbubble::thanks_speechbubble:

Adobe Photoshop is noticeably slow to startup, but I find it to be faster than most macs at actually doing stuff. Same with Illustrator. Make sure when using rosetta that you are using the sse3 kernel (assuming your CPU supports it). Also, when having problems with software, make sure to include which version of OS X you're running. It helps, trust me.

Thanks! Yes the processor does support SS3 and I'm running Jas 10.4.7 patch.
