kithylin
So i've been searching around the internet for about 8 hours and tried all kinds of different things and guides and wasted about 8 cd's on different boot loaders and i'm just completely fustrated and at my wit's end, and there has to be an easier way of doing this.. I'm writing this here in the hopes someone can link me to it, i've been in and out of google searching for everything i can think of on the subject and no closer to having my mac-on-PC functioning yet. My situation: I own an Asus P6T (Not 'Ws revo' not 'deluxe', just vanilla P6T) and an intel i7-920 with 6gb ram. Primary storage is 4 * 160gb raid-0 on the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (ICH10-R) chip/whatever. Now, for other OS's and to load and screw around with different things, i have a single 80gb hard drive all by it's self that i can load up, wipe, format, destroy, whatever i want. That 80gb is what i'm trying to load snow leopard on. I DO have a retail snow leopard disc handy here a friend gave me, but i do NOT have a mac around to use for anything, so i can't do this "use your flash drive and prepare it on a mac" BS that 90% of guides tell me to do. The only other option i've found is some guides tell me to use this "Chameleon" thing, well the latest RC4 version doesn't come in ISO, so i can't get it burned onto a cd, and i've been googling "Chameleon RC4 ISO" for about an hour, and i can't find that either, and i can't figure out how to get the RC4 *.tar.gz file into an ISO either.. ARGH! this is so f'ing fustrating. Can anyone suggest some help or something? I have alot of technical IT knowledge, this is just beyond me. edit: And yes i realize there's another post in this same forums a few posts down about installing snow leopard on my exact system, but that requires existing mac and i don't have it, so.. that does me no good what so ever. I do have a 8gb flash drive, but no mac. Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206571-106-on-asus-p6t-with-no-exitsting-mac/ Share on other sites

kithylin
I'm re-reading it, but unless there is somthing burried in the comments, that install STILL needs an existing mac which i don't have... i'll try and dig through the comments though This is what you may need Snow Leopard on ASUS P6T. That's booting to chameleon from usb... something else i've searched for, and been unable to find.. *Sigh* this is so depressing because that looks so sexy and easy, and i can't do it Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206571-106-on-asus-p6t-with-no-exitsting-mac/#findComment-1381189 Share on other sites
Black SER
I'm also on the same boat. I'm starting to think that the logical thing to do is get a dam mac. What's with all the guides needing a dam mac for...Sorry for the rant, but just frustrated. I'm sure once I buy a Mac that i'll forget all this Hackintosh nonsense.
