gorbs Posted January 9, 2010 Share Posted January 9, 2010 I have installed 10.5.7 on a Q6600 2.4Ghz X38-DS4 I have the AHCI fully working finding all the sata drives (6 in total) I cannot however hard I try get the system to recognised the ide controller which connect to a dvd/rw. Initially when the system boots with the osx disc the drive must be found for the osx to install from but I have tried multiple install options to see which configuration will get the ide to show which eneded with panics stopping the install. So I hope this is the correct section to ask for the help I need in getting the correct kext to get the ide channel up and running.
