leglez
I am wanting to try lifehackers snow leopard guide. I have all the right hardware except for the graphics card. I have someone offering to trade me a Evga 9600 GT 512 Superclocked for my card, will the 9600 be compatible with the guide? It is this card right here http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16814130445 Thank you! LogicalUser
Yes, that card should work great The only concerns I'd have would be heat/noise related, as some of the superclocked cards pump out tons of heat and/or have inadequate cooling, personally I would stress test the GPU in windows using something like OCCT just to make sure the cooling & heat dissipation is good enough for your needs. Beyond that, actual OSX compatibility should be great, odds are It'll work with nothing more than graphicsenabler=yes. and if not... just a matter of EFI strings. What is the current card your planning on trading? leglez
Thanks for the quick reply! I am going to be trading a 3870 for it. I am not really worried about performance because I plan on purchasing a GTX 260 in the coming months, I just want to be able to get snow leopard up and running.
