Looks like intel's core 2 series are finally of the past. The cheapest budget i3 beats out both e8400 and q6600. You can bet that apple will be going after these new 32nm, for both macbook and the Imac line. Only a matter of time now. How will it fare vs the E8600? How will it overclock? So at stock speeds (in blue) the e8400 gets beat. I would assume since the e8600 is an e8400 with higher clock speeds, it would be similar. Neat I've yet to see anyone benchmark the Pentium G6950 CPU (2.8ghz, 3MB L3 Cache, no hyperthreading), will be very interesting to see how it fares against the entry level i3 with its extra 0.13 ghz, 1MB cache & hyperthreading. In addition, I just noticed mention of an E6500 (wolfdale, 2.93ghz 2MB cache) already shipping, and an E6600 (3.06ghz wolfdale) on its way in about a week. insanely2010 Posted May 9, 2010 Share Posted May 9, 2010 I have a G6950 and an Asrock H55M... no way to install Snow 10.6.3 or leopard... On real hardware (and on Vmware) the system reboot during the dvd bootstrap ( on VirtualBox 3.2 works great ) (on Asrock Alive Xfire esata2 (amd) and Asrock N68 (amd) same DVDs works fine...) I Tried also Ibooot and others Tonymacs pre-loaders... but only Chemelon starts... when i Change DVD, system reboot after "Loading Darwin x86"...
