ST3ALTHPSYCH0
Alright, I've been Googling this all afternoon and tried several solutions to no avail. I think this stems from 1)using someone else's VMware snapshot and 2)not having any Mac OS experience since 1998. Anyway, I'll try to be as specific as possible. My machine: ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO ATI Radeon HD3300 on board video VIA VT1708S sound chipset AMD Phenom II X4 805 O.C.ed to 3 Ghz 6 Gb RAM I downloaded a VMware snapshot originally by Xelabo that had subsequently had the AMD patch added by someone else. It fired up with absolutely no problems in Vmware player 3, and I got the resolution to my full screen size with no issue. I just cannot get sound to work for the life of me. I've tried the Azailia kext, AppleHDA, and Voodoo HDA. I'd appreciate any help. EDIT: Alright, I found Xelabo's original post and got sound installed, but then the VM had a fatal crash and locked up. I did a lot of messing around though. I'm gonna go with a fresh image and try again. This post may be closed. EDIT2: yeah, problem solved Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/206087-sound-in-vmware-with-via-vt1708s/ Share on other sites
