AstainHellbring
Hey guys, I have a compaq v3000 with an Nforce 430 chipset and it only has sata hard drives. What would be the best way to install on this and get it running natively Thanks! Agret
Thread hijack maybe? I've got a Compaq Presario V3000 too and am looking into installing OSx86 on it, has anyone else installed on this hardware? kuja
It is not possible to effectively (at least not effectively in a native boot) to run OS X on that laptop. The laptop has an nForce 410/430 motherboard which is an MCP51, and the MCP51 isn't supported for SATA at the moment. You can use the modified AppleVIAATA.kext posted somewhere on the forum which will work *sometimes* not go berserk most of the time. The only way to effectively run OS X on the V3000 laptop is to run it in VMware, at least until a driver that can drive the SATA controller on the MCP51 emerges. It may take some time, but with patience I'm sure you will hear good news Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/20591-installing-on-a-compaq-v3000/#findComment-496594 Share on other sites
