bliss
Hi, I've tried to install SnowLeopard with EmpireEFI (ATI Radeon 48** build) but i don't get into the installer - well i think I just dont "see it". I tried different Versions of EmpireEfi and also the boot 123 image, but i get always similar results. It seems to boot normaly until it should go into graphic mode of the installer (also tried verbose mode) Then i only see black and white stripes that are flashing when i move the mouse. My hw is: 4GB DDR2-800 (2x2GB) GA-P35-DS3 board SATA hdd and dvd Club3d Radeon HD4850 Overclocked Edition 512MB. usb mouse and keyboard. I searched the forum for a while and i think the problem is with the "special" versions of the hd4850 that have hdmi and so on but mine has two dvi (and tv-out) so i think it's because of the "overclocked" thing i also tried both dvi, also with dvi to vga converter, but didn't work I don't have osx installed yet and i also have no acces to a mac or hackintosh, so i cant create an own boot-cd with modified drivers, if there are some. And also i dont't have another pcixpress card for testing. So please help - what can i do? Is there a fix for us "special versions"? i've also downloaded iDeneb 1.6 and will try to install that first - but 10.6 would be nicer but if iDeneb would work i could include other drivers into the image - if there are some. Sorry for bad english and thanks, bliss ps: its a long time ago since i kept with osx (tiger times) so i really don't know whats going on any more Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/205844-problems-with-club3d-radeon-4850-overclocked-edition-512m/ Share on other sites
Mushishi
Take your screen, connect it direct to dvi port 1 (That is the one closes to the motherboard), then take the dvi -> vga adapter and connect to port 2 and connect nothing more to that adapter and see if that dont work. bliss
Thanks for your reply, I've tried, but it still wont boot into graphic mode - but now i dont have the black and white stripes. tried all combinations because both dvi ports just say dvi instead of dvi1 and dvi2. i also tried with a vga monitor on the adapter... But I think i know the problem. I've looked closer to the verbose messages and there was one message saying: "Not loading com.apple.kext.ATI4800Controller not found and kextd not available in early boot" also he could't load VoodooHDA.kext (but i think sound should be supported on this mobo) trying to get the vendor id and so on of this card and i'll post it here. Maybe it helps to support this card in the future. Or can i just edit the kext and add the vendor? Maybe i can edit the iso with winiso? thanks, bliss EDIT: OK im just in iDeneb installer and looking for hardwareinfo: Card says: 1002:9442 ATI Technoligies inc. RV770 (Radeon HD 4850) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/205844-problems-with-club3d-radeon-4850-overclocked-edition-512m/#findComment-1377329 Share on other sites
