Hi all! I'm new to Hackintosh and Mac in tote. I tried to install a SnowOSX build about a mounth ago, but with no luck. I want to install Vanilla 10.6.2 and this is what I have:

Asus P5KC

Intel Core 2 Duo E6550 (2.33GHz) overclocked to 2.98GHz

Asus Geforce 8600GT 256MB

2GB OCZ RAM

250GB HDD with Win7, 1TB HDD with file archive and another free 1TB HDD. All SATA

DVD-RW SATA

Asus WL-138Gv2

I don't want to flash MB BIOS to another model because I'm afraid of getting brick. Last time when I tried to install Mac OS it recogized not all hdds, do I need to load some kext's? Help please, how do I install Snow Leo on my system?

I also tried with a p5kc (bios 1203) and could only get sata ports 1 & 2 to be recognized in Snow.

I would put SL and your dvd drive on ports 1 and 2, the 1TB on the jMicron controller. This way, SL will see the dvd drive and 1tb. I assume you don't need to access the 250gb Win7 drive under SL.

Try the file i have in sign, maybe without a P5KR BIOS you need also AppleIntellPIIXATA.kext or something like this to see all the sata port.

If you don't use DDR3 type RAM there are no problem in using the P5KR BIOS, just use the correct command:

afudos /iNAMEOF.ROM /n

Thanks for the tip but I was reading somewhere, can't remember where, about another person that flashed their board p5kc board with the p5kr bios and started receiving weird error messages.

I took the board out of service because sometimes, after pressing my case's reset key after a hard lock-up, the mobo refused to recognize any drives connected to the sata ports unless I remove the cmos battery for a few hours. This really slowed down my SL experiments.
