Jemm Posted June 29, 2006 Share Posted June 29, 2006 No, not at all. Not with 10.4.4, 10.4.5, 10.4.6 or 10.4.7. Not With HotISO, JaS or any combination of patches. Not natively or with BorisBadenov's method. Not with the new installer script. All I get after two weeks of trying is a totally messed up screen on reboot after applying the patch. Looks like refresh rate type problem, but works the same on half a dozen different CRTs and LCDs. P5GD1-VM motherboard. Maybe that is the problem. When I install a fresh copy of 10.4.5 and up, the card works right off the bat and says that CG and QE are supported, but probably not really and with terrible tearing of the mouse cursor. Detected as some kind of standard VGA. No rotation. Sent card back to manufacturer. Tested good. Hrdware is not the problem. I have followed the steps with exquisite care dozens of times. No good. Callisto drive b006 works fine, but no acceleration. Tried flashing ATI BIOS with equivalent from MSI or Sapphire. Won't flash -different IDs or something. Big waste of money. Don't know what all the success stories are about. Total failure. Of note: that card doesn't display the computers CMOS screen properly, either. On any computer. Some kind of palette problem. Manufacturer and retailer says they all (all EAX1600XT) do that. Sounds doubtful, but truse on several different machines and with several different cards of the same model so far.
