AT0MAC
I'm about to upgrade my Mac Mini early 2008 with a new much better and bigger harddrive, in the same moment I'm thinking about upgrading the RAM - but as I already have 2GB factory installed in it on my 2GHz early 2008 model I'm thinking how much a difference would it be to add 1 GB extra (2x2GB but only using 3)?? I can only find one test about that subject, and mostly looks like that 2+1 GB would be a better choice such as the prices are now, RAM has increased in cost lately RAM test Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/205528-mac-mini-ram/ Share on other sites
Moose Tracks
You have a Mac Mini (mid 2007) according to Mactracker. There is no 2008 model in their database. The reason why it isn't seeing 4 GB of RAM is because it just can't handle that amount. I don't know why, but Mactracker says the actual limit of RAM is 3 GB. Even if they were matched sets, there isn't much of a point because 1/4 of the 4 GB in the matched pair just won't be seen or used.
