Mudbone
I'm using the Generic Install DVD and attempting to install to a brand new hard drive. The Installer loads fine, I'm able to create partitions in Disk Utility. According to the Installer Log, Installer fails at the "Preparing Disk for OS Install" point with an error of "Couldn't prepare volume for boot. Could not unmount disk (-10000). I'm using an onboard VIA VT8237R IDE controller. I feel like I'm soooo close, but I haven't been able to get past this. Any suggestions? FluffyWithTeeth
Bah, my G4 Cube's given me that problem before. Just check the DVD isn't scratched, and try again. Mudbone
Problem solved. Instead of selecting New Install, I chose to copy over the existing disk from the install options. Once I made that change, all was good. I am now up and running -- I'm writing this message from Safari!
