Hello,

(1) My Specs:

Mobo: GIGABYTE GA-EX58-UD3R LGA 1366 Intel X58 ATX Intel [Rev 1.6]

Processor: Intel Core i7 920 2.66 GHz

Memory: OCZ OCZ3G1600LV3GK 3gb (1gb x 3) 1600mhz 240-pin ddr3

Video Card: nVidia GeForce 9500GT 1024MB 9500GT 2.0 SLI

PSU: LOGISYS PS650U12 650w atx 12v 80 plus

HardDisk: Western Digital® Caviar Green 1TB 32 MB Cache SATA 3Gb

DVD Rom: Sony CD/DVD RW IDE

(2) Modification made to BIOS:

CPU Enhanced Halt = [Disabled]

CPU Thermal Monitor = [Disabled]

CPU EIST Function = [Disabled]

HDD Smart Capability = [Enabled]

SATA RAID/AHCI Mode = [ACHI]

Onboard SATA/IDE Device = [ACHI]

USB Keyboard Function = [Enabled]

USB Mouse Function = [Enabled]

HPET Mode = [64-bit Mode]

Drive A = [NONE]

Halt On = [NO ERRORS]

(3) Steps:

Packages Selected:

Initially I downloaded iAtkos v7 and tried to install but it failed. I guess this was a problem with the burning process as at some instance it could not read from the DVD. I then proceeded to download another copy of iAtkos v7 and a copy of iPC 10.5.6. I managed to install the iPC version but was having lots of problems with 'failed dependencies' at boot time. Afterwards, I tried again with iAtkosv7 with different burning techniques:

( a ) Changing burners.

( b ) Burning at very low speed.

( c ) Using different burning software (finally I used ImgBurn which is a good software).

At this point I had 2 good copies of iAtkos v7 burnt at different speed. I used the DVD which I burnt at 3X to install.

The Packages I selected are as follows:

  • Main iAtkos System v7
  • Chameleon v2
  • Extra Directory
  • DSDT
  • DSMOS
  • APIC Driver
  • Disabler
  • OHR
  • Remove TyMCE
  • AHCI
  • Intel SATA / IDE
  • JMicron SATA / IDE
  • Voodoo HDA Driver
  • Realtek R1000
  • Post Install

I booted from the DVD with the option "-v busratio=20". After partitioning, formating and selecting the packages the installer proceeded to verify the DVD and it succeeded. But when it proceeded to install the packages I got the following error:

"The installer could not validate the contents of the '10.5.7 Intel' Package. Click Restart"

I tried to install at least 10 times and got the same error each time even though the disk verification was successful.

(4) Steps to solve the '10.5.7 Intel' Package Error.

( a ) After partitioning and formating the installation partition open the Installer Log. From the tool bar on the top click on Windows > Installer Log.

( b ) The log will open. Click on Save (top right with harddisk icon).

( c ) Save it on the partition you will install MacOsX. Anywhere will do.

( d ) At each step save the log file. You can replace the existing one, it should not be a problem.

( e ) When the DVD verification finish and before the installation starts, save the Installer Log file.

( f ) When the installation is proceeding save the Log every 1 or 2 minute. [i saved it every 30 seconds :thumbsup_anim::):) ]

( g ) Also if you see the installation hanging or taking time to continue save again.

This should do the trick and this is how I manage to install with the same disk that said:

"The installer could not validate the contents of the '10.5.7 Intel' Package. Click Restart"

I have a fully working hackintosh now :)

Please ask if you have any question.

p.s I have used this forum to get the differents tips to install and solve the problems I had. I would like to thanks those people who contributed to the different threads.
