AAHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I love osx86 on my dell inspiron 8600, but have a problem. no wireless, and no pcmia card. I am looking to buy the best USB wireless card that i can for under $100

 

What i Need:

 

Good Range

 

Fast Speeds

 

Possible the ability to put on an external antenna

 

Compatibility with osx86 10.4.5

 

Small

you can buy usb wireless hubs at my local electronics store they cost 34$ each and you plug end 1 into your usb port and end 2 is what you plug your keyboard / maouse or whatever into they are usb 2.0 and work great my friend has a few. i'm not sure about the whole hackintosh thing though. jsut make sure you have zap straps for cord bundling.

I do own a usb 2 wifi card, but is not compatible with osx86. and no hacks work.

As far as I know, you'll have to find one that has a ralink chipset. Zydas is also working on a mac driver but from what I gather there are still some bugs to straighten out. Unfortunately, USB wifi isn't recognized as an airport card and so it loads its own software which makes it a little more cumbersome and less "seemless"
