ThEeDaRkOnE
Hi there, after a huge overhall of my machine, i decided to install the Kalyway 10.5.2 efi V8 DVD iso... I tried on several occassions to get the iPC OSx86 to work and just ended up trying to get this version working... SO, after booting into Darwin using -v -x, I finally managed to get a complete install working (that didn't hang at the sky blue screen... just after setting up your profile) I had problems with the Vanilla kernel working with my CPU/Mobo combination (see specs below) and a few teething problems with the Sleep Kernel - but Sleep seems to be stable enough now... I managed to apply the dual boot scenario listed here: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2 I just wait until Darwin is booting and select my XP partition to boot to if needed... My main questions are... 1.) How to get the second core working if i've installed the 'Boot to single core' patch fix... Is there a way to disable/remove this once it's been applied in the install process??? And will it work on a Pentium D??? 2.) I'm convinced that during the installation that there was nothing mentioned about my video card... I've read on a few forums that there's issue with the Nvidia 7300LE, So i never specified an option during install for fear of it crashing... Is there an appropriate kext/driver i can add in for this video card??? Bear in mind that I've only dipped my toe into Linux distro's a couple of times and sadly have been a bit institutionalised by Mr Bill Gates and his evil empire over the years... So go easy on me... lol I've got the Dual boot in place really for the kids sake as they are used to using a PC at school and fear change... So this is a way to aquaint myself with OSx (with a view of getting a MacBook Pro in the future)... Many thanks in advance.
