burty89 Posted June 26, 2006 Share Posted June 26, 2006 OK, I have a Compaq Presario V5120EU laptop (specs are here) and I have everything I need working except for audio (well, no CI/QE but I can live with that). I have searched around here and it seems that nobody's had any success... If anyone knows of any way to get the Conexant AC-Link Audio (what its called in windows) to work, could they please let me know how. Otherwise, how does one go about hacking together an audio driver? It'll be difficult (for me) but I'm willing to try (I assume it has to be written in C (another thing to learn, I only know pascal/c-sharp)). Oh, one last thing if anyone knows how to get the damned @ and " keys to be in the right places (they're backwards...) then please could they tell me that too. I just got done booting my pretty much fully functional Pavilion again. I renamed one .kext and it seems to have helped. "IOPCCardFamily.kext" This doesn't mean it'll work for you, and it may not even be why it works for me, but it worked. It would explain why before I renamed, I saw many many errors involving the AC97 .kext, and after I didn't. What's even cooler is, the volume buttons on my HP laptop actually function just like the volume buttons on a Mac.
