Guest timepassx Posted September 6, 2005 Share Posted September 6, 2005 Ok, so I know the DVD is ok since I installed OSX on my desktop without a hitch. Now came my laptop... The first difference I noticed was the initial startup screen w/ Darwin Desktop said - hd(2,0) Mac OS X Install Disc Laptop said - hd(31,0) Mac OS X Install Disc Now I've tried nearly everything under the sun to get this working...but every time it stops at... From path: "uuid" waiting for boot volume with UUID 47820F9D-4EF8-3B5B-ABA1-19D13CCA2251 Waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProviderClass</key><string ID="1">IOResources</string><key>IOResourceMatch</key><string ID="2">boot-uuid-media</string></dict> ACPI: Supported S-states [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3) AppleMTRRSupport: Enabled Write-Combining for memory range f0000000:400000 still waiting for root device still waiting for root device(....etc etc) (note: spaces used to designate breaks) Specs: Desk (Dell4300) - P41.7 / 640MB PC133/ 40GB HD/ATI 9800 Pro (but no sound / network) Lap (Dell 2650) - P4M 1.6 / 320 MB PC266/ 20 GB HD (No OSX!)
