Hello guys,

at first, i just want to let you know, that i am not american or a good english speaker.

Its my first post in this forum, before this i was only reading the threads, but now

i am at the end of one's tether. -.-

Please help me,

my sytem:

Processor: Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 3.06GHz , Socket 775 LGA (0x4) (SSE3)

Mainboard: GA-8I915PMD

Memory: 1024mb

Graphic: Ati Radeon x1300 256mb

Software: Windows XP home

discs: 250gb with 2 partitions, (S-Ata)

-one of them is with windows (NTFS)

-second with a faild Osx try (Mac)

250gb , empty (IDE ) (FAT32)

1000gb extern disc (NTFS

My first try was with a snow leopard retail version, i wasnt working of course, i cant remember me exactly, but i think the "chameleon" of the bootloader appears after installing it, but nothing more..

Later I read, P4 and snow leopard dont work together, so i deleted it.

My second try was with the "BrazilMac_PatchedDVD ", leopard , it doesnt work again, i installed it, hows the manual says it, but during the installation a error message appears "some files couldnt be installed in Volumes/Mac. So i tried it again, an other error mesage was showed, " the folder volumes/mac/library/receipts/db couldnt be installed"

finally i took an other version, named iATKOS_v7, installation was quiet easy, i installed on a extra drive (IDE, after the installation i could choose between windows and mac, i took of course mac, then the sytem made a reboot, and i was again, at the selection of the operating systems.

So i tried it another time and installed iatkos at an extra partition of my main disc..

at the end of my reboot, it showed me, the "boot0: error".. i was quiet angry and deinstalled it..

my last try was the installation of iDeneb 1.4 ...it was yesterday, i installed it at the same partition like the try attempt before... installation was perfect, but after the reboot i got the "boot0: error" again.

-.-

i googled and i found a solution, i had to go in the terminal and making the partition active..

after this, i got the error: boot0:mbr , boot:done

:)

the solution for this, was to take "easybcd", but its for vista, so it failed, too..

today i tried with a boot 132 image to load osx, and install chameleon on the hard disk,

but it doesnt work, because when i choose, OSX at the selection it reboots again,..

but if i choose xp, it wont reboot and i can get in the system..

i am finished...please help me by installing it..

hopefully the text isnt too long, that nobody would read it..

greets form germany. :-)

max

thank you for your help ;-)

i solved the boot0 error problem

but now i am getting "still waiting for root device"

i already searched in the internet but no solution helped

i think error is because of my bios settings

i dont where can i get the "AHCI" modus..

and what should i choose at this option:

"on chip SATA-mode"

- disabled

- Auto

- combined

- enhanced

- Sata only

?

mac is now at a IDE hard disk

and windows on a Sata

Hello and welcome in the incredible world of edible apples.

Don't worry, I think everyone had a hard time at the beginning, some quit, some

got addicted. :P

I would suggest having as look at the tutorial section there's maybe guide for you.

And maybe you'll find some different distribution that fits your CPU.

But never surrender. It's often a question of faith.

(I'm on travel, so I cannot answer in the next couple of days. Search for a basics guide

made buy ~pcwiz long time ago. There you will find a lot of tricks and ideas, and a good insight in thhis universe)

Good Luck.

Hi,

there's a nice tutorial by Munky explaining step by step the installation on pre-core systems.

The AHCI mode you're searching for is probably not possible on your MB, but that would

not be a problem for OSX. You can run it in normal IDE mode without probs. (probably it's the "enhanced mode", but

AHCI mode would hose your XP install anyway 'cause you dont have installed the right drivers, but there's

a workaround).

I would suggest installing a retail version with chameleon bootloader, maybe a little more difficult at the beginning, but a lot more easier in the future (because it forces you to understand how things work).

I would suggest (as I don't know yu MB, nor your chipset (915P I suppose) nor your Southbridge, ICH6 probably) that you start using the search function of the forum. I know, it suck's, but g***gle is also useful. And you will discover that other users installed osx Leopard on the very same system of yours. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;#entry1257459
