blwegrzyn
I installed Kalyway on kvm. When i start the mac os I can only boot it when cdrom (iso) is mounted. How can i fix the boot? Another problem is that i dont get any ip address in kvm nat mode. Are there any special switches to use with kvm to get networking in natmode? I am new to this stuff so apologize for stupid questions. thx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/204362-kalyway-1052-running-on-kvm-no-networking-and-can-boot-only-with-cd/ Share on other sites

It is recognized but it does not work. Also can anyone tell me what are the differences in different kernels? blwegrzyn
NIC recognised? does it show in system preferences--network? yes, the dmesg log shows: com_appledriver_RTL: Ethernet address 52:54:00:12:34:56 and the system preferences network shows it as in slot3 (whatever that means) i can remove the interface and re-add and then it gets ip from KVM Nat network but it does not communicate, nothing is pingable not network at all, after i do try do some pings the dhcp ip disappears and interface gets automatic ip from 169.range when i run xp vm using same KVM settings the xp network works with no problem while i am writing this i was able to get the network running for 10seconds and it stopped working, hmm is it a Kernel that has a problem or a network driver ? i cannot blame KVM because network in Xp vm work perfect. besides the mac os work pretty well as for the kvm, any ideas? thx Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/204362-kalyway-1052-running-on-kvm-no-networking-and-can-boot-only-with-cd/#findComment-1372224 Share on other sites
blwegrzyn
I gave up. Too many complications to get Mac running. Once i have one version then I have to worry to to update to another one, etc. I better stick to penguin (linux) that always works perfect for me.
