tomster2300
I keep getting a -10810 error after finder crashes and everything on my desktop disappears. I can start the Finder.app in Terminal by doing /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/Contents/MacOS/./Finder but it closes as soon as I close Terminal. It will not open when I try open /System/Library/CoreServices/Finder.app/ It usually happens when I try and close something out or eject a drive / image. It will suddenly hang and then everything disappears. Which logs should I be looking at to see what's causing this? I also have been having spotlight crashes too, with the spotlight search bar and the time completely locking down. Does anybody know what I can do to fix this? I finally got my sound working the other day, so if I can solve these two things I'll have a complete, working system. I have booted into single user mode and tried running fsck -fy numerous times, but it has not solved the problem. tomster2300
UPDATE: I think I've fixed it. I checked the console and found the Ralink wireless assistant utility was checking for status updates literally every second. I killed that program and haven't had an issue in the last three hours. Hopefully that fixed it and will help somebody suffering the same issues in the future.
