indy05
right, first time poster, LONg time follower but kinda noobish here. Ok here goes PC specs: install: ideneb 10.5.5 RAM: 4gig Processor: Intel P4 3Ghz HT Graphics: Nvidea 8500 256mb Audio: AC97 Roght, basically i was running quite happily with ipx's 10.5.6 when for no reason at all it slowed right down to a snails pace. So after reinstalling etc, then it went too fast... so i thought scrrwe it i'll go back to when nothing went wrong, that was back in 10.5.5 So i do the install, and its running at half speed, i then replace the kernel with the voodoo kernel and it goes twice as fast as it should do. Having read up on FSB ratios etc i heard chameleon bootloaders had an auto fsb detect, only problem with that is its still too fast, and given i use it mainly for using Logic etc, you can see the havock its causing. Iv since tried entering settings manually but they either have no effect or cause a kernel clockinit panic. any ideas? i read a reference in a different post that this was a problem back in 10.5.4 , but i couldnt find that post. can anyone point me in the right direction here? note:* iv been trying the manual input commands *after* the chameleon rc2 is installed. maybe thats what causing the panic? i dont know, Appreciate any help guys, cheers Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/203930-ideneb-1055-running-too-slowfast/ Share on other sites
