Soo is sse2 [patched] suppose to be this extremely slow?

my specs:

• AMD Athlon 64 3200+ ( sse2 )
  ATI all-in-wonder Radeon 9700
  2 hdds ... a 250 and a 40 ( both IDE )
  1 gig of ram
  NVIDIA nForce Networking Controller ( i have a gigabyte wireless card too, but i would prefer not to use wireless )
  Realtek AC97 audio
  motherboard: Gigabyte nForce 3 250 ( exact model GA-K8NS )

so i got jas's 10.4.6 installed

i can't remember exactly what patches i included, but as far as i can remember all the amd ones and the one for sse2

 

i remember using 10.4.1 and it worked pretty dang fast, well compared to this now... why is that

something to do with the included sse2 patch?

its a very important problem at this point.. very slow

plus a choppy mouse (which i plan to fix - after just now seeing the fix topic)

i have searched around but it seems like everyone with sse2 either doesn't have the problem .. or just never mentions it and lives with it
