Help with my first build please

I am building my first hackintosh. I have done a bunch of reading on what to do, but I am still a noob with a lot of the language. This is my build:

 

Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 LGA 775

 

Mobo: GA-EP45-UD3P

 

ATI Radeon Sapphire 100283-2L HD5770 1G RT

 

4Gs of memory

 

1T Seagate HDD

 

Have I made a mistake with compatibility? because I am having a hard time getting the boot 132 to work on my setup. After I use boot 132 and swap for the Leo cd I get a panic...any ideas?

First of all, are you talking about Leopard, or Snow Leopard? Are you following a known guide, and using the right boot-132 disk? IE: like this guide and files.

 

If you're doing a Snow Leopard install, then use the LifeHacker guide.

 

It's NORMAL with a Leopard install to get a series of read-errors just after swapping the install DVD. Just wait it out and the grey Apple logo should eventually show up. If you're getting an actual panic after the Apple grey screen, then you're probably using the wrong boot-132. Use the one in the Auzigog guide.

 

Unfortunately for your setup, I think your graphic card is probably not fully supported, IE: with full QE/CI and resolution switching. That's one detail people sometimes overlook and don't realize that not every graphic card works for Hackintosh. A system running without the full video drivers is pretty lame- the graphic card won't be hardware accelerated and likely won't support a resolution beyond the default 1024x768. It's a bit like using Windows in safe-mode. (I'd be happy to be wrong that recently there may be support for that card- I'm not really an expert on ATI card used with Hackintosh- so look into it.)

 

Other than than graphics, you've got perfect system spec's and you shouldn't have problems installing OSX. If it comes down to it though, you may need to spring for a supported GPU to enjoy the real Hackintosh experience.
