olykwon Posted December 24, 2009 Share Posted December 24, 2009 ive tried everything I can get 1280x1024 but NO HIGHER for my resolution using VESA im assuming as being i have to remove appleintelGMAX3100* and appleintelintegratedframebuffer kexts just to avoid a dim flickering backlight screen and then rainbow horizontal AND vertical lines that fade into only rainbow vertical lines cannot see mouse cannot see ANYTHING I DO only see these god damn lines! theres no way to hook up an external moniter to the HPIQ504 (touchsmart) I DID see someone mentioning a USB-VGA adapter but i dont want to waste money without a reassurance from someone IS THERE ANY way i can get this working without needing to buy this adapter? im running 10.5.8 the card is the GMA X3100 (0x2a02) (0x0003) im pretty sure the HP Touchsmart IQ500 series uses MOBILE as in laptop hardware. olykwon Posted December 25, 2009 Author Share Posted December 25, 2009 ok got it working somewhat i dont know exactly what kexts im using but its a different framebuffer and im using natit i had to set the mac up with vnc using vesa driver and once i applied the kexts i vnc'ed into the computer running os x from an XP computer and was able to get it running on 1344x1008x60 with QE/CI the screen seemes dimmed and the backlights kind of throbbing at a very low light. the bottom and right part of the screen is tearing / artifacts i cant get to 1800x1024 but it IS working and im able to reboot and boot up without having to modify or vnc into anything no external moniter... well you cant even connect one to this computer its the hp touchsmart iq504 anyone who can help i would greatly apreciate it i guess at this point you could consider this a 100% everything working hackintosh except for the integrated mic but i think thats due to the voodoohda and my soundmax ADI94B or AD194B i dunno what model it is but its one of the two.... webcam is working usb works sd slot works dvd drive works sound works WITH volume controlls headphone input doesnt work it doesnt even recognize that i plugged in headphones. wireless usb keyboard and mouse work.... im just curious as to why that guy wrote the guide on installing os x on the touchsmart as he didnt even do it a good way stupid f#$%^ing idiot couldnt even install the bootloader and get it to boot with that! CharredPC Posted December 26, 2009 Share Posted December 26, 2009 Sounds like an EDID issue, with maybe a duallink DSDT fix needed as well- afterwards, I bet you could run stock kexts, with no Natit. Check the last page or two of the stickied X3100 thread in this section, should really help you out. olykwon Posted December 26, 2009 Author Share Posted December 26, 2009 just got snow leopard running! 10.6.2 thanks to the hazzard distro, figured if i want this working 100% might as well stay up to date on everything XD going to try the dsdt patch good thing i backed up the kexts before i removed them ill try working with the stock ones XD thank you so much, quick question before i give it a wing, lets say 10.6.3 comes out will i have to repatch the dsdt? olykwon Posted December 26, 2009 Author Share Posted December 26, 2009 ok so i was on snow leopard 10.6.2 trying to get the damn thing working... i know nothing about dsdt patching i had NO idea what the hell i was just looking at all i really learned how to do was decompile edit and recompile but what i was editing was a different story completely THEN i decided well what the hell what harm could it do i used someone elses....... yeah.... not so much a good idea.... cand even load in single user i try to and theres a kernel panic MILISECONDS after i start the boot process. im about to reinstall snow leopard im going to post my EDID Viewer results after I run this program in windows 7 and also could someone possible help me..... like how would i go about getting my dsdt? and if i posted it would someone be able to get this thing working for me or write up a manual on how to do this step by step Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/203822-hpiq504-gmax3100-1058-request-help/#findComment-1369137 Share on other sites More sharing options...
