i installed os 10.4.6 using this guide. i don't have a dvd writer (lame) so i have to use this method to install. it boots into the screen with the apple logo and sometimes into the blue screen, but it just sits there with the spinning wheel. left it going overnight and still didn't finish booting. i tried searching but didn't find anything i thought was relevant.

i'm pretty sure my machine is only sse2 but i'm not sure if my problem relates to that. i can't tell if my image is patched or whatever.

the other thing is, i can't figure out how to specify -x or -v during the boot sequence. i tried holding ctrl, f8 and shift but none of them prompt for boot options.

i'd appreciate any insight you folks have.

i have the same problem.

i suggest you checked the 'combo upgrades' or something like that when you customise the installation, maybe you will get closer to success!

PS : English is my secondary language, if you get any misunderstanding , just tell me , i 'd like to explain it in another words.
