Ratz1
I'm trying to get my 4870 fully working, I've installed the different enablers, the ATI4800Controller.kext and added the GraphicsEnabler line in the boot.plist in the extra folder. I finally got the graphics card to display, but it only has one resolution and runs pretty choppy. I've tried adding the device id to the controller kext and it won't start up, although I probably put the device id in the wrong place, the netkas site on it isn't really that helpful. I've also tried patching DSDT from what the Wiki says and I get a kernal panic/grey screen of death when starting up. If anyone has any idea how to get this all properly working I'd greatly appreciate it, I normally just install a ton of kext's just to get it partially working and I know thats not a good idea. System Specs: Mobo: Gigabyte G31M-ES2L Rev. 2 Graphics: Sapphire Radeon HD 4870 1GB Device ID: 0x9440 Vendor ID: 0x1002 Thanks! edit: Oh tried the EFI String thing as well, didn't work, probably did that wrong as well... Edit Edit: Ok scratch everything, re installed Snow Leopard and now everything works perfectly... Now I just need to figure out how to delete my thread....
