Kenjiro Tanaka
Hello there. I finally managed to get Snow Leopard installed, and it is already upgraded to 10.6.2. "Everything" is working (netwok, video card, sound, etc). But I am having problems with video encoding. I tried encoding home made video (AVI file) to DVD-Video using iMedia Converter and Movie Gate. Both converted the file, but the final result is terrible in the very same way. The video/image is weird, buggy. Then I installed Virtual Box and loaded a Windows XP VM I use on my Linux host. Why? To try ConvertXtoDVD. On my Linux host this VM works 100% and the video convertions/encodings have no problems. OK, the VM worked, ConvertXtoDVD worked... but the final video sucks just as with iMedia Converter or Movie Gate. I have a Intel Core2Quad Q6600 @2.4Ghz (no overclock), 8GB of RAM (DDR-2 800Mhz), NVidia 9600GT (512MB). I don't know if this is important, but my video acceleration is working and I can watch 720 or 1080 videos with MPlayer. Any tips/advices on how to solve this problem? EDIT: OK guys, I got it "fixed". The real problem wasn't on the "enconding" part, but on the "playing" part. I was using MPlayer Extended and it was giving me a bad output when playing mpeg2 files/DVD-Video disks. So I tried just another encode with iMedia Converter (from AVI to VOB) and then I installed VLC and tested: no problems. On MPlayer, the same buggy video. So... bye bye MPlayer Extended.
