HackyZak
I need some help and any advice really appreciated. I installed iDeneb 10.5.5 flawlessly on my Dell Optiplex 260 (with an upgraded HDD and 2 GB of RAM). Then I tried to install the iDeneb Combo Update Kit 10.5.7 -- that's when problems began. The installation of the combo update appeared to be successful -- those were the words that appeared on my screen before the system restarted. But, the system doesn't restart. I don't even know how to restore my old extensions to get at least my old 10.5.5 system back. Yes, I'm a noobee. I tried using all the flags: (cpus=1 -v -f) (-v) (-x) etc. I've also tried the vanilla kernel, voodoo, and anv -- all of that leads to a gray screen with the apple logo and nothing else. Lastly, I tried -s and all I got was a black screen while the HDD was still green (on). My question: can I do something to get my system to work with the new update? Some command or something? Or, how can I "revert" back to my old 10.5.5 system knowing that those old extensions are saved somewhere? Thank you. My computer specs: Dell Optiplex 260 Intel® Pentium® 4 and Celeron™ 1.76 Mhz 2 GB RAM 250 GB ATA/133 IDE Hard disk Dell Bios 9 Thank you!!
