Hi everyone,

I recently installed MACOSX leopard on my xeon dual quad core server board, It installed fine with about any issues that would be difficult to fix i guess....

i got everything working, sound, graphics, lan, and so on, the only problems i have remaining are the following:

- Screen resolution, i want to switch it to 1600x1200/60hz/32bits but unfortunatly, i cant get it working....

- I need to boot using the cpus=1 argument, does this mean only 1 cpu is used? i have a dual quad xeon 2.0ghz, would it be possible to fully use it? the system info detects i am using a xeon processor, but it does not mention if it's dual or not, i'd need your input on that you mac osx86 gurus...

- I am using Chameleon 2.0r431 as the bootloader, before the GUI shows up, i have a text based error saying <parsing error> or something similar, which promptly appears then it gets into the GUI anyways

-we are looking forward upgrading towards a new version of chameleon so we can hide the non-bootable partitions and hard drives.... but we need your input on that as well, do we need to upgrade from macosx? i am asking this question since we have been installing the IATAKOS install dvd, and we used the latest chameleon boot loader, is there a way to upgrade it after OS installation?

i would really appreciate your help, and i hope this would help intel xeon processors users at the same time....

props for this amazing blog...

You need to post the Video card/chipset as a start..try & fix one problem at a time

ok chipset is 8800GT 512mb Nvidia PCI-E

thanks for responding so quickly to my question, it is REALLY appreciated.

and i have more info as for the parsing error, it says <error parsing plist file>

ok you are on the way, don't have an exact answer,

I followed the instructions found here:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=91755

When I rebooted, instead of booting into Chameleon as usual it boots directly to Windows. I was supposed to reboot and then boot using the -f flag. Obviously that isn't possible.

I don't know what went wrong. I followed the instructions to the letter (except for the parts that applied ONLY to certain versions of course).

I'll wait for a response before I use Macdrive to reset my plist so I can boot back into Mac OS. Just incase this problem is easily fixed.

Thanks for all the help!
