welp
I've been trying to get Tiger installed on my extremely old Dell Dimension 4600 from 2003. It's supposed to be compatible however when I select where I want to install OS X there's nothing there. So naturally, I go to Disk Utility and select my Hard Disk and format it into the format OS X uses. Just one problem. When I selected the HD I wanted to use, it wouldn't let me erase it. Any ideas? I tried installing it to my Time Machine Backup for my other Mac but for some reason, my Dell doesn't want to boot from my USB device.
ryanrpm2
I had the very same problem too. Make sure that your hard drive is set as master, and your DVD drive is set as the slave. That should solve any recognition problems.
