bonfilio
Anyone else have a problem with capacitor squeal? I never have it under OSX (regardless of how taxed the system is) but I always have it under Windows - doesn't matter what the load is. Typing this post right now in Chrome with nothing else open and the squeal is on a pretty rhythmic 2s interval. From what i've read, general consensus says video cards are the culprit. Does OSX underclock from stock video card speeds? (see system in sig - btw nothing is overlocked currently (cpu or gpu) - ignore that part) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/203196-capacitor-squeal/ Share on other sites
U.C.
On my GTX 260 OSX will use the Power Saving config of nVidia and reduce card speed. Not sure if your Windows drivers are doing the same. Use RivaTuner to manually reduce speed and check Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/203196-capacitor-squeal/#findComment-1365147 Share on other sites
crazybyte
In some scenarios the PWM fans can make a high pitched noise, in my case when i push the fans of my GForce 8800 GTX the card starts to make it very loud. You can check it increasing the fan speed inside riva tunner.
