hello,

i´ve downloaded a 10.4.6 version it´s called "hot iso". (i don´t know much more at the moment)

so i started to install it on my system. when the installation wizard was comming (after a long while) i´ve got following error massage:

Error parsing distribution script: /System/Installation/Packages/OSInstall.mpkg/Contents/OSInstall.dist

xmllint: /bin/sh: Line 1: /usr/bin/xmllint: No such file or directory\n

do anybody know what this is meaning? is my dvd corrupt?

and what version would you advise for my system?

- AMD 64 3000+

- MSI K8N Neo4 Platinum (Sound, G-LAN, FW, SATA RAID)

- gf6600

- 1Gb RAM

- 2x 80Gb SATA HD

- 1x 16Gb IDE HD

i read that i have to patch the installtion dvd for amd support. is this a must for all version or are there prepatched versions avalible too? (and what´s the name of this patch? i haven´t found it)

ah: after the installation aborted, i came into the installation prog, where i was able to format my hd (IDE) in apple´s hfs. after that i rebooted my system and dried the installation a second time, but with the same error than the first time.

i do not come to the install point. the only thing i can choose is the installtion language at the beginning. after that i get the error message and see an installation interface from mac. there i can formate my harddisk, manage hd´s and so. the installation option (into a drop down menue) is not selectable.
