This is how I upgrade my iPC 10.5.6 installed UD3R hackintosh to 10.5.8. I'm not sure if I'm doing everything correct but I've been using my 10.5.8 system for several months without any issues that I didn't have under the original 10.5.6 installation.

First of all I install iPC 10.5.6 as outlined in my UD3R guide here...

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=159254

After that install the 10.5.8 combo updater from Apple.

When prompted to restart, I reboot and boot to the iPC disc (F12 on the UD3R to enter a boot selector)

Under customize installation I turn off everything except the first Voodoo kernel option

After the installation is finished and it restarts I hit F8 to enter startup options

Type -f and hit enter to boot

The next thing I do after the computer boots is restart using the iPC disc again

This time I install the drivers but no fixes (Ethernet, Sound etc, everything outlined in my original 10.5.6 guide)

Once the install is finished I reboot without any boot flags

I used OSX86Tools to install the HDAEnabler.kext to get sound working

Once the install is finished restart using the boot flag -f

Now everything works

I tried installing the drivers at the same time as the kernel once and I couldn't get the machine to boot so I'm not sure what is going on there, but when I installed them separately it works fine.

If trying this install method I would first try it on a clean drive without any files so you can make sure it works for your system.
