Hi,

I've been running an iDeneb 10.5 setup on an old Gateway system from late '06 for while and I want to run 10.6 now. It's the E6610D which is basically a 975X/ICH7 motherboard and a Conroe E6600 CPU at 2.4. I downgraded the ATi video card I had (it was giving me issues) to an nVidia 6200.

Basically, I'm just trying to find out if I can put together a 10.6 retail disc install on it without replacing the board. I know 975X/ICH7 is a bit old, but it'll serve my purposes for a few more months until I can put together an i7 machine. I haven't found any info on Snow Leopard installs on this type of board, but maybe I'm just searching for the wrong info.

Any advice would help. The main reason I want to keep using the board for now is because it's an obsolete BTX case and I don't want to have to go out and buy a whole new case and power supply and board.

If it won't work, and I need to go with a new ATX board, any recommendations for that CPU would be great.

Thanks for any help.
