I, I've succesfully installed ideneb 10.5.7 on my notebook (HP Compaq 615).

See the hardware reports in signature.

The problem is the audio driver: i tried to use azalia, but don't work, vodooHDA working bad and the output is sparkling and confused.

I tried the IDT guide post in this forum, but I'm unable to find the device class GUID in Xp to execute the byte flipping, and in this case the modified kext cause error in osx leopard.

Another problem is the video card and the LAN, but I post the specific request in another topics on forum.

Sorry for my terrible English! :D

I hope in you guys!

If anyone have the kext in question please send me at sclatter@libero.it, thanks!

I've the same problem on my DV3-2119TX..

anyone can help?

Hello everyone,

I have the Compaq 610 which is the Intel powered version of your 615.

I run Windows 7 Professional but I think it will be the same in XP.

To find the VENDOR & DEVICE ID got to

Device Manager > Sound, video & Game Controllers right click on IDT High Def CODEC.

Select Properties > Details. Here you will see a selection tab and Value window.

Click on the tab and select Hardware Ids, this is where you will find the Device and Vendor ID.

On my machine it reads as HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D&DEV_7608&SUBSYS_103C308B&REV_1002. So my Vendor ID = 111D and Device ID = 7608.

To find the Device class GUID Select the Hardware Ids tab and look for Compatible Ids. Here you will find a number of lines in the value window.

On my machine part of it looks something like this

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&VEN_111D

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086&CTLR_DEV_284B This line is my VENDOR ID (intel) and DEVICE ID (IDT)

HDAUDIO\FUNC_01&CTLR_VEN_8086

If that property is not there look for one named Parent it should only have one entry and the first two bits are the Device and Vendor Id's.

Mine is

PCI\VEN_8086&DEV_284B&SUBSYS_308B103C&REV_03\3&33fd14ca&0&D8.

Hope this helps you guys get a bit further along to the road to hackintosh audio.

PS> I have a script here that will patch the AppleYukon2.kext and change the device ID to match that of the Marvell Yukon 88E8042 chipset. Let me know if you want it and I will send it to you.

<br /><br /><br />thanks a lot I'm using Win7 too. I would follow your recommendations recently. By the way. could you, please, attach the files you mentioned - an IDE audio kext and the <s>MARvell</s> Apple Yukon2, please. I tried one, which I've found here and it worked (the LAN one), but I've made a mistake. And audio card doesnt work still. Thank you all the same.
I used to use this kext without problem. It may work for you as well.

Ok finaly got snow leopard 10.6.2 reinstalled and have sound working on my Compaq 610, also have working Marvell 88E8042 wired network controller.

Just copy the kexts from the atatched zip file to the apropriate places and reboot with -f -v to rebuild caches.
