everlastingz
Well I followed Lifehacker's instructions on preparing a 8gb thumbdrive (im using a usb harddisk, 10gb) and attempted to install it on my Dell Inspiron 8600: - Intel Pentium M (1.6ghz single core ) - 512mb ram (can up to 1gb) - ATI Radeon 9600 Pro Turbo Well I managed to get to the screen which show my volume and "press any key to enter startup options".. I just wait for the bar to expire, and after that I just see a white screen, and theres a short flash of the apple logo.. and the computer restarts. [Alternatively, if i press any key to enter startup options, it shows me the two volumes, one with my windows xp and my usb hdd. after selecting the usb hdd, the same thing kinda happens.] I've no idea what this actually means (incompatible hardware? maybe the lifehacker guide was really ONLY for that vanilla build of that EP45 motherboard) Or that Snow Leopard is just too awesome for my comp. But anyway just wondering if its just that snow leopard cant be used with such an old rig, and I'll just have to try with leopard (someone managed to do it with the same laptop with a slightly different configuration using tiger (yeah i know its much older) over here: http://apilgrimsway.wordpress.com/2008/03/31/hackintosh/) so.. yeah. Any ideas with what I'm doing wrong? Much help appreciated, thanks!
